I’ve posted from the Planet Claire Sessions for numerous artists over the years and was pleasantly surprised that I found Alela Diane on there a while back. The session is from October 24, 2007, so a little over a year ago, but these tracks are still up close and intimate, and I’ve been listening to them ever since my post about her upcoming album a few days ago. They are worth the listen. Enjoy.
I never heard of this site, but I am quickly becoming a fan. They state that, “The Secret Stereo is a place where you can find free, downloadable MP3 EP’s from some of the most exciting musicians around today. The songs might be studio recordings, album outtakes, out-of-print releases, rarities, live performances, demos, collaborations, or remixes.”
Each artist has an “ep” of sorts on the site and below are three tracks from three separate artists that have preformed for the site. I highly recommend you visiting for more exclusive tracks.
I came across a three song live set by one of my favorite bands of 2008, Fleet Foxes. The tracks and videos have been out since March of 08, but if you haven’t heard this live set, I highly recommend you heading over to get it. Below is one of the three tracks and an HD video of the performance. The other two songs/videos are over at It’s Hard to Find a Friend; and while you’re there look around b/c it’s a great blog and maybe pick up their charity cd: Peace on Earth Vol. II.
